Records Division

The Records Division provides the public with a wide range of services.

Motor vehicle traffic accidents and Police generated incident reports are available for a minimal fee. You can also obtain a copy of your accident report online through our vendor, Buycrash.com, for a fee. We also provide reports for other law enforcement and government agencies such as the District Attorney’s Office, Solicitor General’s Office, and Municipal Court. Insurance companies and various other companies in the private sector contact us for reports and information. Data entry, scanning and telephone inquiries, and open records requests are also handled in this department.

The Records Division provides a number of permits which include:

  • Pawn and Secondhand Permits: $50.00 first time; $25.00 renewal
  • Retail Package Alcoholic Beverage Permit fee: $25.00
  • Alcoholic Beverage Server Permit: $25.00

For Alcoholic Beverage Server Permits the following is required:

  • Photo ID
  • A 10 question test will be given, and
  • Criminal History Check will be conducted.

For all permits a photo ID is required, and a criminal history will be conducted.

All fees are non-refundable. We accept MasterCard, Visa and cash. We do not accept personal checks.

The cutoff time for permits and background checks is 4 PM.

The Records Division is staffed by two well trained, full-time Records Clerks and a Records Supervisor. This staff is dedicated to assist the concerns and needs of each individual and provide excellent customer service.

Alcohol Permits

Permits for restaurant alcoholic beverage servers and retail package alcohol sales stores are available at the Douglasville Public Safety & Municipal Court Building, 2083 Fairburn Road Douglasville, Georgia 30135.

The cost for the permit is $25.00. It is good for one year from the date of purchase. The payment can be made at the Records Division by cash, check, money order or credit/debit card.

Please bring state issued ID and be prepared to take a 10 question test. A criminal background check will be done on each applicant.

Pawn Shop/Second Hand ID Card

Pawn and Second-hand ID cards are handled in the Records Department.
