Crime Prevention Training

Community-oriented policing is a concept which has been around since the beginning stages of organized law enforcement. It relies heavily on the cooperation of the public and its policing partner. Without the additional support of the community's "eyes and ears" law enforcement would be even harder than it is.

We encourage any reports of suspicious activity, and welcome anyone with a need for a police officer to call 911 in our city, since the Douglas County 911 center dispatches all calls for the police and fire departments. For residents living in the county's jurisdiction, the number for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is 770-942-2121.

We encourage neighbors to come together and act as an extra set of "eyes and ears" within their neighborhoods and subdivisions.

Identity theft and identity fraud are terms used to refer to all types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person's personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain.

By request the Douglasville Police Training Department will present their "Active Shooter" program to any organization interested in knowing how to react in an active shooter situation.

This program is a must for all citizens and is based on the Department of Homeland Security "Run-Hide-Fight" principles.
